About


Dr. Md Jahedul Islam currently serving Premier University, Chittagong (PUC), as Chairman and Associate Professor for the  Department of Public Health from 2021. He is also working as a guest faculty for One Health Institute, CVASU, Chattogram. Before that he was working with University of Creative Technology, Chittagong (UCTC) since December, 2016 as an Assistant Professor, Assistant Registrar and Coordinator of the Department of Public Health and also involved in some research works. He also worked as a Controller of Examination (In-Charge) for UCTC that time. Basically, Dr. Jahed has completed PhD degree from CVASU in Public Health (Epidemiology) field. Before that he completed MS in Biotechnology (Bio-Medical Science field) from BRAC University, Dhaka which was two year of duration and carried 60 credits and before that he completed B. Sc. Honors in Biochemistry and Biotechnology (Bio-Medical Science field) from USTC. After that he joined USTC as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology (Bio-Medical Science field) and also at the same time he was a guest Lecturer in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Department of the University of Chittagong. During his MS program he did some Research works and worked as a research fellow in ICDDR, B, Dhaka. In addition, he has some other Pharmaceutical and Industrial training experiences for example – GSK, Orbit Pharma, Beximco Pharma, ASM Chemicals and Pioneer Hospitals etc. After that he went abroad and worked in some academic and medical institutes as research coordinator, for example – Qatar University and Hamad Medical Corporation. Dr. Jahed has many research articles published so far in different reputed journals and 11 articles more are upcoming. Dr. Jahed also attended more than 40 National & International Seminars, Symposiums and Conferences altogether. Dr. Jahed has been found self-motivated, enthusiastic, honest, sincere, willingly to know, hard-working, dedicated and a keen mind for study and research.
