Admission Criteria & Requirements

The MPH program is a 1.5 year regular postgraduate course. For admission to this program, candidates must have possessed a bachelor degree from any recognized University of Bangladesh or abroad. Applicants from following academic background will be eligible for admission into the MPH program, 

Medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, public health, general sciences, agriculture, engineering, biological and chemical sciences and selected humanities background (including social sciences/statistics/economics/psychology).

Specific criteria should be applicable for all applicants having different educational background: 

  1. Applicants with MBBS degree: should have MBBS degree recognized by BM&DC and one year internship/residency/equivalent training in a recognized hospital. 
  2. Applicants with a BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) degree: should have BDS degree recognized by BM&DC, 1 year internship and 1 year working experience preferably in public health field. 
  3. Applicants with nursing degree: should have B.Sc. in nursing recognized by Bangladesh Nursing Council and 2 years working experiences preferably in public health field. 
  4. Applicants with physiotherapy background: should have B.Sc. in Physiotherapy recognized by the appropriate government authority as applicable and 2 years working experiences preferably in Public Health field. 
  5. Applicants having non-medical background: should have Bachelor degree in professional disciplines (Biological sciences /Agriculture and Engineering) and 2 years working experience preferably in public health field. 
  6. Applicants with master’s degree in non-professional background: should have Master’s degree in non-professional disciplines (General Sciences, Chemical and Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Home Economics, Fisheries and Livestock's, and Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, Psychology) and 2 years working experience preferably in Public Health field. 
  7. Applicants having at least 2nd class (or equivalent GPA grades) in bachelor degree from any recognized University will be eligible to apply.
