Orientation Program at the Department of Public Health, Premier University.

The orientation program for the 10th batch (Spring–2026) of the Master of Public Health (MPH) program under the Department of Public Health of Premier University was held at the university’s GEC Moor campus. The program took place on Friday, 27 February 2026, at 2:30 PM. The Honorable Vice Chancellor of Premier University, Professor S. M. Nasrul Quadir, attended the event as the Chief Guest. The Special Guests were the University Registrar, Mr. Mohammad Iftekhar Monir, and the Proctor, Mr. Mohammad Solaiman Chowdhury. The program was presided over by the Chairman of the Department, Dr. Mohammad Jahedul Islam.

In his speech, the Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor Professor S. M. Nasrul Quadir, stated that public health is a field directly connected to improving people’s quality of life. Through this program, students will gain the skills to identify public health problems, conduct research, and implement effective solutions. He further mentioned that infectious diseases, environmental risks, and mental health challenges are increasing worldwide. He expressed his belief that the university’s MPH program will produce competent, compassionate, and responsible public health professionals who will play an important role in the welfare of the country and the nation in the future.

Special Guest Mr. Mohammad Iftekhar Monir said that the MPH program not only provides academic knowledge but also develops a mindset dedicated to serving society and humanity. He added that students can play a leading role in raising health awareness and contributing to public welfare through this program.

Special Guest and Proctor Mr. Mohammad Solaiman Chowdhury, in his speech, highlighted the university’s code of conduct and conveyed his best wishes to the newly admitted students.

Chairman of the Department of Public Health, Dr. Mohammad Jahedul Islam, stated that public health is not merely a field of study; it is the backbone of society. It influences every individual, every family, and every community by combating diseases, promoting mental health, addressing health inequalities, reducing environmental pollution, and ensuring global nutrition.

Teachers and students of the Department of Public Health were present at the program.
